Pleasure Without Labels: A Conversation with Katie, Founder of Labeless

In the soft-lit corners of the adult toy industry, where glossy packaging and scripted fantasies dominate, the voices of lesbians and queer people have too often been silenced.

Marketing campaigns speak in languages that aren’t ours, products are designed for someone else’s pleasure, and intimacy is filtered through a straight male gaze.

A proud lesbian and unapologetic advocate for representation, Katie founded Labeless with a mission both radical and necessary: to create a space where queer pleasure is celebrated, seen, and designed for without compromise and labels.

Her vision was transformative yet straightforward: to strip away assumptions, stereotypes, and invisibility, and replace them with toys and experiences that truly reflect the diversity of desire.

Each Labeless product is an act of reclamation — elegant, inclusive, and intentionally crafted for queer bodies. From sleek, body-safe designs to sensual textures that invite exploration, these aren’t toys that “work,” they connect. They honour the bodies they’re made for and the stories behind them.

When we spoke with Katie, it wasn’t just a conversation about toys. It was about identity, resilience, and rewriting the rules of pleasure.

Katie, can you take us back to the moment you realised the adult toy industry was missing your voice and the voices of so many others?

Katie: I think the penny dropped when I went toy shopping and realised… nothing in the shop felt like it was for me. “Toys for lesbians” are still showcased and marketed with this glossy, straight-male gaze.

It wasn’t just the products; it was the whole narrative. As a lesbian, I didn’t see myself represented anywhere. It was frustrating, but it also lit a fire in me. If I couldn’t find something that spoke to my experience, I was going to create it, not just for me, but for every queer person who’s ever felt invisible in this industry.

The name Labeless is powerful.
For you, what does it mean to live without labels in your sexuality, identity, and business? And how has this philosophy shaped the way you create and connect with your audience?

Katie: For me, “Labeless” is about freedom.

I’m proud to be a lesbian, but I also believe our experiences and desires can’t always be boxed into neat little categories. Sometimes labels don’t define us or our sexuality, and there should never be any pressure to label yourself just to make others feel comfortable.

In my personal life and my business, I want people to feel they can show up exactly as they are, without pressure to define themselves for someone else’s comfort. That philosophy shapes everything, from the language we use to the products we design; it’s all about inclusion without assumption.

Your toys are more than just products; they’re statements.
What’s your creative process for bringing a toy to life that truly reflects queer intimacy, from the shape and texture to the way it’s photographed and talked about?

Katie: It starts with honest conversations. I listen to what our community actually wants, how they like to connect, what feels good for their bodies, what they’ve never been able to find in mainstream products.

From there, it’s about pairing that knowledge and designs that prioritise comfort and pleasure equally. Even the way we photograph and talk about our toys matters, it’s always from a place of authenticity, not fantasy built for someone else’s gaze.
4. In an industry saturated with clichés and unrealistic portrayals of intimacy, what does authentic representation look like to you?

Katie: It’s showing real people, real relationships, and real desire, not airbrushed perfection or staged scenarios. Authentic representation means people seeing themselves and their experiences reflected in every part of the brand, from our mission statements to campaign imagery. It’s not just ticking a diversity box, it’s making our community central to the story.

Your products are unapologetically sensual yet inclusive. Can you tell us about your design process, how form, function, and desire come together in each piece?

Katie: For too long, products in this space have been designed from a male perspective – shaped around their body parts, their pleasure, and their idea of what intimacy should look like. At Labeless, we strip that away completely. The male gaze doesn’t influence our products in shape, colour, or style.

They’re completely and utterly Labeless to the eye, created to feel empowering and authentic to the person using them.

For people who have never felt seen in this realm of desire, what do you hope they feel when they first open a Labeless box?

Katie: I want them to feel seen, celebrated, and entirely at home in their skin. That moment of unboxing isn’t just about the toy, it’s about knowing this was made with YOU in mind. No second-guessing, no worrying if it was “meant” for you—just the excitement of exploring without judgment.

If Labeless were a lover, how would you describe its personality in bed? Is it slow and teasing, confident and commanding, playful and experimental — or all of the above?

Katie: Playful and experimental. The kind of lover who listens, knows what you need, and isn’t afraid to surprise you. Basically. We’re here for the slow burn, the deep connection, and the occasional “oh wow, didn’t see that coming” moment.

If you could whisper one unfiltered truth about sexuality, self-love, or desire into someone’s ear, especially someone who’s just starting to explore, what would it be?

Katie: Your pleasure is valid, and you never have to apologise for it. Desire isn’t something you have to earn or explain; it’s part of who you are. Explore it, own it, and don’t let anyone convince you it’s too much or not enough!

The Future of Queer Pleasure

Labeless is more than a brand; it’s a movement. It’s proof that the adult toy industry can be reimagined through a lens of inclusivity, authenticity, and unapologetic joy. Katie isn’t just selling products; she’s offering validation, empowerment, and a reminder that pleasure belongs to all of us.

In a world still learning to talk about desire without shame, Labeless stands as both an invitation and a revolution: come as you are, love without labels, and take pleasure in every part of who you are.
